Your Ceremony

ceremoniesAt Braisty Estate we don’t have a wedding license for a Registrar to perform the legalities in the barn and civil ceremonies cannot be performed outdoors in the UK. However this does not mean that you can’t have your wedding ceremony followed by your wedding celebrations here on the Estate.

Many couples today are opting for a more personal ceremony and wedding experience that compliments their unique venue. They are looking for a ceremony that allows them to say what they want to say and promise to each other, choose which traditions they want to include and the personal touches that can make it their own.

We work closely with Jan Shillito, owner at Celebration Ceremonies & Weddings, one of the first Independent Celebrants to be qualified and approved by Government training body Ofqual a few years ago. They specialise in writing, conducting and styling personal wedding, renewal of vows and naming ceremonies that have a bit more heart, soul and personality that can be held in off the beaten track and outdoor locations that make you feel “this is us”.

Their ceremonies can be as formal or informal as you wish and can include either secular, religious or spiritual content; each one is bespoke and written to reflect your personalities and style, what’s important to you and tell your story.

Couples are required to complete “the legal bits” at their local Register Office with just their two witnesses either on the day or at some point before the ceremony; it only takes 4 minutes then you are free to hold your personal ceremony in the location of your choice.

Like us, Jan’s inspiration to set up Celebration Ceremonies & Weddings came from her own wedding:

“When we got married ten years ago this “concept” just didn’t exist. The idea of having an inflexible, production-line ceremony that sounds the same as everyone else’s just filled me with dread! We wanted something more unique, personal and relevant to us that could be conducted at our own home. The rest they say is history!”

In addition to writing and designing ceremonies, as a qualified designer and client service professional she and her team also offer bespoke design services including: stationary collections, venue illustrations, monogram design, china favour dishes and on the day ceremony styling set up and wedding day co-ordination.
